Mo Capall by plutoplus1 Mo Capall by plutoplus1
Made this pretty quickly today, because I was bored. I finished reading The Exile, by Diana Gabaldon the day it was released (for those who don't know, this is a graphic novel related to Outlander) and felt like doing something Jamie-related. The title of this image (I hope) means My Horse in gaelic.

Jamie has a thing for horses, even though he doesn't get to work his horse magic pretty much at all after the first book. So this is for Jamie, and horses. :)

Comments and favorites appreciated!

Awesome work! =D How did you manage to put in the shadows? :?
I've also read The Exile, and I must say I was a bit disappointed... =( Firstly, Jamie didn't exactly look like my interpretation of him (but that was to be expected), and of course I couldn't help but notice that they skipped some parts of the book, not to mention that it ends looong before the actual ending in Outlander... =(
Otherwise it was simply great! But what else to expect from Diana Gabaldon?? =D

Lol, thank you :) I put the shadows in either by drawing them or making a copy of the image (like the horse) making it black, and then lowering the opacity.

I've read a lot of Diana's website and blog, so I sort of knew what to expect with this book. She said it wasn't supposed to be exactly like Outlander, and it was a good deal less of the story. You are right, too, that Jamie didn't look like what I thought he should, either. There are a few images of him in there that I think are pretty close, though. But again, Diana said that also, that lots of the images weren't 100% accurate.

That's why in my outlander fan art I almost never show any faces, or as little face as possible. Hair and body type are easy to guess what they look like based on descriptions in books, but not faces.

Ok, thanks for answering =)
Yeah I know, but still... Sure! Some of the images are actually really good =) And of course we all have our different interpretations of him. That's a smart move. Not to show any faces I mean.
Hey! If you could choose an actor to play Jamie, who would it be? A lot of people on youtube seem to favor Gerard Butler or Kevin McKidd, but I'm not so sure about that..... =/

Hmm, I like Gerard Butler as an actor, but not as Jamie. Kevin McKidd looks too old, and no offence, short, to play Jamie, too, lol. Someone was just talking to me about this on DeviantArt, too! They said David Wenham was a close match for Jamie, and I have to agree. I could easily see him as Jamie. What about you, who is your pick?

Yep, has to be someone taller than that  But, in that case, isn't David a little bit too short as well? I like him a lot but I'm not so sure. However, I watched a youtube clip with someone else's choice for the whole cast and I thought that take on Jamie was the best so far =) I think the actor's called Chris Hemsworth. Not so sure who that is though.. He would definitely suit the character. And he's certainly good-looking enough ;) plus he's taller than all the others.
Anyways... here's a link to the video if you wanna check it out: [link] I don't agree to 100% but overall it's very good =)
Oh right! This video shows the motivation for choosing Chris: [link] There are some very convincing arguments in it =D

I've never looked at the guy I sent you in reference to height before; I just thought his facial features were much closer. Chris Hemsworth would be a really good Jamie, actually. I liked both of those videos.

I actually wish Hugh Jackman was about 20 years younger and would dye his hair orange, so he could play the part, lol.

But in any case, the directors will probably pick someone 5'4" with a Germanic accent to play Jamie, lol. They never care about what the book might portray a character as, only about how famous the person is and how much money they will make the studio.

Mmmmm..... yes... Hugh Jackman would be perfect...
Indeed, that's unfortunately a likely possibility =P Hopefully Gabaldon herself will have a lot to say in the matter though =)
And yeah, the videos are brilliant! I like them more and more the more times I look at them...

I hope Diana can stay and work on a movie, but most of the time the authors have no say what goes on in the movies. They sell the rights completely, or typically no one will want to buy the rights to it. Sometimes directors to consult the authors, though, and in those cases I think the movies are 100 times better. I have seen a few where such is the case, and I loved them.
