Artist's Comments

As I was reading the first book of The Tawny Man set, I suddenly had an image composition come to mind, looking like this. I was at the part (slight spoiler warning, fyi) where Fitz recalls his adventures after the end of the Farseer Trilogy with Nighteyes, and how they returned to Verity-As-Dragon, Fitz hoping something would still be left for him to feel in the Dragon. It was a poignant moment, at least to me. I really felt for Fitz, and so I had to make something.
Originally, I wanted a dragon laying down, and a brighter background, to cast both Nighteyes, Fitz and the Dragon more in shadow. Unfortunately, since I'm not a great artist, I had to rely on stock, so this is what I ended up with. Not complaining, because the stock itself is super awesome!

So, I hope the Robing Hobb fans out there enjoy this! Let me know what you think! Thanks!

Very impressive. And very fitting.

Thanks! :)

I'm actually fairly happy with this, because I feel like the scene stays pretty close to what happened in the book. I can't remember what color Verity-as-Dragon is, though...lol.

Huuum... he's blue, right? But like, blue-green I think.

Oh, I just noticed... Fitz's hair should be black :]

Hmm...It would be easy to fix Fitz's hair color. Whenever I imagine him, I always imagine it a sort of dark brown/black.

I know Tintaglia is blue, but I'll have to go back through the books to find where Fitz might mention Verity's color.

Thanks for pointing that out :)
